Two Steps relocate their studios
Hello everyone! The reason why there haven’t been many updates lately is that we’ve have been moving our studios to Santa Monica in Los Angeles. There’s still a lot of work left but we’ll be up and running again shortly. Power of Darkness has not yet been released. Once it’s done we will compile our first commercially available album. Thanks for all of your support!
August 13, 2009 at 4:49 pm
Have fun moving all your stuff!
August 13, 2009 at 7:18 pm
Great to see that you’re still here.
August 13, 2009 at 7:58 pm
Right on guys! Can’t wait to purchase your music!
August 13, 2009 at 8:32 pm

August 14, 2009 at 2:20 pm
I hope LA suits you! Good luck with the moving and the album!
August 14, 2009 at 3:24 pm
Is Santa Monica some sort of an entertainment hub or something? IM is already there, as well as many other studios… (maybe it’s time for another trailer music concert in Santa Monica, hmm? 🙂 )
Good to know your business is moving on and the public releases aren’t forgotten.
August 14, 2009 at 5:01 pm
woot thx for the update
August 15, 2009 at 11:42 pm
Nice to finally here from you again was getting a little worried you had forgotten about us. yes i aggree with the guy about santa monica i was wondering about that 2 because immediate music and x-ray dog are there maybe thomas once you have finished on these 3 albums you immediate music and x-ray dog should join forces for one ultimate trailer music company hmm that would be interesting anyways good luck by the way have you head about that new trailer music company? city of fallen or something have you guys met each other yet?
August 16, 2009 at 9:11 pm
Sounds good (if its a bigger/better studio)…Its not like your moving back to your old garage? Thats always bad news 😛
Good luck with the moving and getting back to work.
Greets,
Tim
August 17, 2009 at 5:55 am

August 18, 2009 at 6:32 pm
oh, wow
good luck
i just saw one particularly bad trailer today and I thought, “hey, I know that music!” (no offense, but good music can’t save bad acting 😦 )
you are great
August 18, 2009 at 8:18 pm
Looking forward to Power Of Darkness. My most anticipated of 2009, even more then Nemesis 2.
Hope it won”t take 5 months again until the fans can lay their hands on the full version.
August 19, 2009 at 10:26 am
PoD is not a public release, is it?
August 24, 2009 at 3:11 pm
No but in reality that doesn’t matter ;c)
August 21, 2009 at 12:36 am
Wow, this update is long overdue 🙂
It’s never too late to consider promotion for the soon-to-be due album!
August 26, 2009 at 8:58 pm
Thanks for the news! It must be a lot of stuff to move the studio, you must have been very occupied lately. Pleased to hear that you will soon compiling your commercial album. And remember: a CD release… 🙂
August 26, 2009 at 10:08 pm
I have to say, iTunes release would be sufficient 🙂
August 27, 2009 at 12:03 pm
About the public release:
I heard Nick Phoenix saying in an interview: the fans like those heavy action pieces with big choir
Please Nick and Thomas, we have been waiting so long for a public release, so give the fans what they want and you know they want; meaning: big heavy epic action pieces with big choir.
Nemesis 2 will focus on the more emotional side of music so I personally hope Genesis will be hardcore action like: Hypnotica, Red Omen, Protectors, Smell Of Victory, Tristan, The Immortals, 1000 Ships Underworld.
September 15, 2009 at 11:57 am
The fans like those heavy action pieces with big choir? Yes, but that’s not all: I finally got my hands on Ashes 2 weeks ago and I must say this is IMO the best album by Two Steps from Hell yet. I’d describe it as a mixture between “Shadows and Nightmares” and “Pathogen”, and I really love this mixture of dark ambient and distorted rock! So please release some of this stuff, two.
Oh, and sorry for downloading again, but as usual, it’s just for my personal listening experience, I’d never use or spread it publically.
August 30, 2009 at 8:39 pm
I agree with the hardcore stuff. Demon Rider would be wonderful as well, of all your songs I have to say this one is among my top five.
September 15, 2009 at 8:20 am
I’d also love to be photos… I am ridiculously in love with this beautiful, tragic, lovely, heart-wrenching, amazing music.
I need more… MOREEEEE. I can’t wait! 🙂
September 15, 2009 at 8:21 am
and by “be photos”, I meant “see photos”. I got soooo excited. 😀
September 15, 2009 at 2:11 pm
For photos, check the TSFH faceboo, page 😉
September 18, 2009 at 3:06 am
I love this band. Good luck with the move and album. I can’t wait to buy your music.
September 21, 2009 at 3:42 pm
I am a huge fan of your music. Very happy to hear that a commercial/public release is in the works I’ll buy it the day it’s out. This is great! I love all of the big epic sounds and I know those tracks will be on your public release which will be amazing but you guys do an amazing job at the ethereal/mix type pieces and I hope you add a few great ones to the public release. My all time favorite yet it is short is Clair Voyant..absolutely amazing track I would love to hear a high quality format of this track on my bose system!! I hope it or a very similiar track gets put on the public release cd. Thanks in advance for the public release and please don’t forget us Clair Voyant type fans.
Kevin.
September 23, 2009 at 4:53 am

September 26, 2009 at 2:39 am
Like many of the other people, I’m a major fan of your music and thrilled to hear it will be commercially available soon!
October 3, 2009 at 10:41 pm
I have been praying and hoping that you guys would come out with Albums sooner or later. I am really looking forward to them! I just would like to know if my favorite songs will be on any of the albums:
1) Two Steps From Hell – Moving Mountains
2) Two Steps From Hell – Protectors of The Earth (Choir)
3) Two Steps From Hell – Freedom Fighters
THANKS!!!
October 13, 2009 at 5:31 pm
@Myles
Moving Mountains is on Nemesis album
Protectors of the Earth and Freedom fighters are both in Legend (full version)
November 27, 2009 at 10:24 pm
Where can I buy the Legend (full version) CD? I have been trying to find out forever now. Thanks.
October 14, 2009 at 7:46 pm
Came home, turned on the TV, and heard this familiar style of music. Turned around and it was a trailer for “2012”
Way cooooool!
October 28, 2009 at 8:48 pm
Ah, it’s good to hear that there will be more on the way. Personally, I can’t get enough of your music. Dreams and Imaginations, Nemesis, Ashes, and Legend are probably my favorite albums thus far. I must confess, though, that I haven’t listened to the rest of the other albums yet, so I may change my tune soon. Anyway, I hope the move is more fun than work, and I anticipate your upcoming album with immense enthusiasm.
P.S. To those individuals who have listened to most or all of Two Steps From Hell’s albums, I have a question for you. There is a song from the Nemesis Epic Demo that I can’t seem to find in my Nemesis collection. When listening to the demo, this particular song starts at 5:48 and ends at 6:16. If anyone can tell me what this song is, I’d very much appreciate it.
October 28, 2009 at 10:21 pm
Well that’s funny Wanda, I don’t remember it either.
October 29, 2009 at 11:35 pm
Now, isn’t that frustrating: to realize that a track might be missing? 😉
October 29, 2009 at 8:48 am
It’s Red Omen…and it’s superb!
October 29, 2009 at 8:51 am
Oops, my mistake…it’s not Red Omen. I don’t know what it is. It’s not in the album. Maybe Thomas will tell us..;)
October 29, 2009 at 11:34 pm
I thought the same thing, moviemaniac83. The pacing of the vocals and the instruments seemed so similar to that song. If not Red Omen, I thought it might also be Clash of the Empires (not in the beginning, but from mid-point onwards). But I’m going somewhere else with that. Thanks for your help regardless, moviemaniac83.
October 29, 2009 at 9:37 am
You guys don’t miss a thing do you? 🙂
I’ll tell you what it is.. it’s a track that never made it on the disc because we felt it wasn’t completely up to par with the rest. It’s not on any of our albums, and probably never will be. Sorry!
October 29, 2009 at 11:20 am
Hello Thomas, nice to see you here again. Few months without updates makes all of us very angry:-) When we can expected any updates. I know that you and nick are very busy, but i think that its not so hard to find few minutes a week for some updates, hm?
October 29, 2009 at 11:31 pm
Really? Well, that makes me somewhat sad. Still, it’s a relief to know that I won’t have to go on another hunt or some such. Besides, I’ll always have your other music to enjoy. 🙂 Thanks for the information, Thomas, and please do continue on with your musical endeavors.
November 12, 2009 at 9:02 pm
I’m sorry to hear that. i really like this track. One of my favs….
November 1, 2009 at 1:55 am
Hey Thomas,
I had another question. Is it possible to get the concret CD of Nemesis II signed by you? And perhaps (as I hope that ‘Genesis’ will become a concret CD release too) ‘Genesis’ signed by you and Nick?
That would be just awesome 🙂
November 1, 2009 at 2:12 am
I love music like the earthgirl and the nemesis 2 demo. their awesome 😀

November 3, 2009 at 8:17 pm
Amen Kevin! I second that! Thomas you are truly a Musical Genius. Never in my life have I heard something so beautiful and full of such exhilarating energy! I could watch that trailer all day long! Please put that song on one of your commercial albums!
Thanks TSFH!
November 5, 2009 at 6:41 am
Hi Thomas Can you confirm once and for all for us fans if nemesis 2 and genesis will be physically available for purchase or will it be itunes exclusive? please don’t make it itunes exclusive i have digital downloads to be honest i would rather have the physical cd this music deserves a physical release it is to good for digital download.
November 5, 2009 at 9:49 pm
Agreed. Your tracks deserve a cd…and please don’t forget Dark Ages because its my favorite. 🙂 I will be waiting. TSFH=LOVE!!!!
November 5, 2009 at 7:55 pm
Hi
I have a question. ( Must not be answered by TSFH )
What language are the tracks?
Is it latin, english or something difficult?
I always hear you music when i turn on Tv on Pro7.
Greetings from Germany
November 6, 2009 at 4:45 am
Hi guys! Yes, I’m from Norway (although I live in Los Angeles), and yes we’re pushing hard to do physical CDs.
As far as the language they are singing in goes, it depends on what track you are referring to. A lot of the solo female vocal work by Merethe Soltvedt is in Elven. We also have some Celtic tracks. The choir is usually singing in Latin or a made up language.
All the best,
Thomas
November 6, 2009 at 7:31 am
Hi thomas thanks for clearing that up. its good to know that your pushing for a physical cd release you will make many fans happy around the world if it happens just think of us fans and you will go down in history as one of the greates composers ever. I am glad i have lived to listen to the music of two steps from hell i listen to it every day it even helps me study. I hope power of darkness is coming along nicely if it is not already released and i wish you the best of luck. Thank you so much for doing a public release you do not realise how many people have been anticipating your entrance into the public realm.
November 6, 2009 at 11:56 am
Amen, brother! I’m backing you up on this statement…
p.s. Sons Of War is the greatest listening experience my ears have ever heard…:) And needless to say, Thomas is the best!
November 7, 2009 at 5:41 pm
Hey Thomas, I’ve been listening again. And I think I spotted something.
Is it true that some of the tracks on All Drums Go To Hell, are the (Drums Only) versions from Nemesis?
November 7, 2009 at 10:35 pm
The Ocean princess excerpt made me teary-eyed btw. I’m not exaggerating..I’m not even a crybaby but I just had goosebumps listening to it! Its really.. beyond words. I will be waiting for your cds!
November 7, 2009 at 10:52 pm
Dont’t worry dude.. TSFH music is overwhelming I get the goosebumps too everytime I listen to certain songs from their albums 😉
Geeez.. Thomas thanks for the info there!!
If you could just make any update about the release date of Power of Darkness, it would be dearly appreciated man!!
I mean, just in general.. For instance, early 2010, or around December, or in a few months or weeks or whatever..
If you could just tell us something..
I’m am dying to get the full version of Blade-Blade.. its so freakin awesome!!
November 8, 2009 at 12:07 am
i know man i want blade blade as well it sounds so EPIC i think as thomas said 2010 will be a very special year for two steps from hell and their fans. I hope blade blade is on one of the public albums.
November 8, 2009 at 12:20 pm
Hi
I´m it again
I just wanted to know what the name of the begining of the video is.
Thank you.
November 9, 2009 at 9:48 pm
Santa monica ? Los angeles ?
Are you moving into Remote Control Production ? ( Zimmer studio 😉 )
November 9, 2009 at 9:54 pm
Yes, indeed.
November 11, 2009 at 12:17 am
I love the style with which each album is released. How many full tracks with orchestra + choir are normally released on each album? I think the website says some of the albums have more than 50 tracks, sometimes even close to 100! That seems like a lot of music to either record or sample.
Or are there maybe 15-20 meaty tracks that are presented as versions without choir, or percussion only? Never seen a physical album from 2SFH, so my curiosity has no bounds!
November 12, 2009 at 8:47 pm
will you ever release a track list for power of darkness? and when can we expect a the cover to appear on your website. and also will nemesis 2 and genesis be added in to your Catalogue for editors cause it will be cool to here some tracks from the albums in trailers and not just exclusive to the public.
November 14, 2009 at 11:38 am
I was listening to Merchant Prince and Enigmatic soul and I was teary-eyed again..goosebumps!!!
November 20, 2009 at 2:32 pm
Hey, Thomas, way to go , man! 🙂 I saw your name and Nick’s in the credits of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Working with Hans, Mark & Atli, eh? 😉 Nice job, all of you…perfect game and perfect score..;) Congratulations…
November 21, 2009 at 8:50 pm
I’m so huge fan of your music.
You are my favorite trailer music company.
And Thomas… you are amazing
best of the best.
Best wishes for you all guys in Two Steps From Hell
Hope I can buy your public release soon.
November 25, 2009 at 8:17 pm
Hey Thomas just saw you updated your websites main page saying that two steps from hell is releasing power of darkness in February 2010 cant wait when can we expect a demo end of December this year a Christmas present perhaps lol
November 26, 2009 at 7:45 pm
Hey if Power of Darkness comes out in Feb. next year. What’s that mean for Nemesis II or Genesis’ Release Date?
November 27, 2009 at 10:25 pm
Where can I buy the Legend (full version) CD? I have been searching and searching for a long time. Thanks, I really enjoy your music.
December 1, 2009 at 5:15 pm

December 9, 2009 at 8:51 pm
Hi,
On Youtube is saw this:
http://www.youtube.com/user/TwoStepsFromHeII
Is it you?
Can you give the text of some tracks?
Give the text sense? Or is it just for good melody?
Thank you
December 9, 2009 at 9:59 pm
Do you really think they would post complete tracks, with fake PoD cover ?
Also, that guy posted Master of Shadows, saying it was a Nemesis II track…
December 10, 2009 at 3:29 am
Im here again cause Im wondering along with many other people when is the next update coming as I have said before I know you are working really Hard but It would be nice to get updates once a week or every fought night I mean come on technology is around us you could even update on this website through your cellphone if you wanted to.
December 10, 2009 at 8:01 am
Have some patience… a lot of you guys are acting spoiled and only want more more more and more. Keep an eye on Two Steps From Hell their Facebook and stop asking here. It’s very irritating.
December 10, 2009 at 7:39 pm
Nick and I are working on too many projects at the same time. We are currently working around the clock to finish the Hollywood Strings sample library ( http://www.soundsonline.com/content/us/hollywood-strings.php ) that we recorded 5 months ago. It is A LOT of work and the deadline is the 13th of January. There are only so many hours in a day. Good things WILL come, but probably not as early as we would have hoped. Thanks again for your interest!!
December 10, 2009 at 7:46 pm
We know quality work takes time, it’s ok.
Thanks for the update!
December 10, 2009 at 8:24 pm
Agreed with Shuyan, take your time 🙂
December 11, 2009 at 7:57 pm
Thomas thanks for the update!! TSFH music is worth waiting for 😉
December 13, 2009 at 10:58 am
Two Steps From Hell finaly at extrememusic.com 😀
December 14, 2009 at 5:35 am
Hi Nick & Thomas,
Breathtaking music you guys are making, absolutely stunning. But when is Nemesis II coming out? Same time as Power of Darkness in Feb 2010?
The tracks I’ve heard so far from the Nemesis II project are awesome to say the least, and really my thing, so I’m really very much looking forward to its release.
I wish you and you’re fellow artists a merry Christmas & Happy New Year. I’ll be looking forward to your enxt release 🙂
December 20, 2009 at 1:08 pm
Hey Bro!
You finally have a home on the web! 😉
Used to GET OUT for years 😀
I read on the TSFH site that you are relocating to RC, that’s so cool man!
2010 will definitely b the year that we will finally meet after 10 years or so on the channels, forums and emails.
And man, I really dig that huge epic sound from the Star Trek Trailer! Reminds me at some points of Batman begins from HZ and JNH. How many french horns did you use?
All the best and have a great Christmas time!
Peter
December 23, 2009 at 2:04 pm
Hey Thomas!
Wish you a “quiet” and relaxing X-Mas Time! Keep clear with all your projects and take a few days off. 😉
December 25, 2009 at 9:30 am
Hey thomas merry christmas to you guys By the way I think there is something you should see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSBTEHNSoQs
its a 30 second sample of blade blade from your power of darkness album
December 29, 2009 at 6:33 am
Awesome(as always)! Watching trailers is much different with TSFH on the background.
December 26, 2009 at 2:00 am
Hey! 😀 U should make some pictures of Two Steps From Hell crew or photos from recordings and put theme on your page, blog or lastfm ( http://www.lastfm.pl/music/Two+Steps+From+Hell ). It would be nice ;D And Merry Christmas.
January 2, 2010 at 11:54 pm
Hi
what will the public albums cost?
January 3, 2010 at 1:51 am
bugattipenner thats a good question
January 3, 2010 at 9:30 pm
I guess (and hope) around $20. If it’s more, I’m definitely willing to pay it 🙂
January 6, 2010 at 7:35 pm
I hope they will be available outside the USA also. Because I really would like to have those albums.
January 8, 2010 at 4:56 am
Someone uploaded Blade Blade on youtube..awesome! TSFH never fails to deliver!!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/user/Epsilonic#p/a/u/0/FzBb7fGroIg
January 8, 2010 at 4:58 am
Well that was real smart lol
January 8, 2010 at 7:13 am
Happy New Year!!
First of all the track is called “Black Blade” ! I don’t know where some people got the “blade blade” from 🙂 Secondly, this version is completely outdated and lacking a lot of elements. The version that is on our official Power of Darkness album makes this old mix sound almost sedated by comparison. Gotta hand it to our fan base, though.. how some people manage to get a hold of these unreleased tracks is beyond me! 🙂
The albums will be available worldwide and be quite affordable, don’t worry. We are doing this purely to please our fans. With such a relatively small amount of fans there’s no monetary incentive for us at all. We just have to recoup our expenses.
Best,
Thomas
January 8, 2010 at 7:16 am
WOAH thanks for the confirmation thomas I thought It was called blade blade on the star trek tv spot post you called it blade blade I guess the name changed
January 8, 2010 at 7:55 am
Aha! It appears a little typo made its way into the blog 🙂
January 8, 2010 at 11:05 am
Thanks for the information Thomas 🙂
January 8, 2010 at 9:16 pm
That’s a great news to know it’ll be available worldwide… though you still don’t want to tell us if it’s going to be a CD release… 😛
And yes, for Blade Blade, it comes from the Star Trek TV Spot news.
And will “Black Blade” be available legally for fans (on Genesis?) ’cause it’s the most anticipated track for many fans…
Thank you so much for this news, and again for all you are doing for the fans.
January 9, 2010 at 12:25 am
Happy New Year to you too! Oh, so its Black Blade..good to hear from the authority himself. At least we don’t get to other sites shouting about how great “Blade” Blade is only to be corrected.hehehe. And wow, you mean the version you are yet to release is even way better? Wow, and to think I was amazed by that outdated version. Yay, worldwide! I love it..as for the cost, I don’t think paying a price higher a bit than the usual indie bands(I’m not really a fan of) out in the market is a problem on my part(as long as its released in my country). TSFH is excellent music(not open to debate because its confirmed) so I think fans will still buy it even if illegal downloads are available on the net.
January 8, 2010 at 12:40 pm
I have an idea, maybe you would want to make a demo reel 2009?
January 9, 2010 at 6:44 pm
i have the full track if any one wants it?blade blade
January 10, 2010 at 12:40 pm
are you a retard? STFU and GTFO thx
January 10, 2010 at 3:23 pm
Some people are like… :S
People, learn to understand. This is the REAL Thomas J. Bergersen here. If we start sharing things UNDER HIS NOSE, what do you think he will do with Nemesis II?
TSFH is so generous to do something for their fans, and then we start pirating their stuff before it is even released?
Be fan, and actually buy what they’re going to release instead of things like this.
January 10, 2010 at 7:30 pm
@ Dirk,
Agreed! I wish we could pre-order our copy though! 🙂
January 10, 2010 at 10:38 pm
I hope we can get some sort of collectors edition with both nemesis 2 and genesis signed by Thomas Bergersen and Nick Phoenix and also some special hard cover or holographic cover and a booklet perhaps showing us what trailers have used Two steps from hell music in the recent years now that would make true fans like me happy 🙂
January 10, 2010 at 11:53 pm
As far as I’m concerned, I’m getting my hands on the album because it is really worth it. I think other fans who love their music will do too. Their music doesn’t deserve a pirate’s copy. 🙂
January 11, 2010 at 4:25 am
Hi Thomas I Learnt about the Power of darkness album after learning that black blade was the song from the prince of persia trailer. As we all know POD is not available to us fans so Id like to ask if POD will have a demo on the TSFH site as the album is due out next month. odd thing is rumour has it that there may not be a demo for the POD album is this true Thomas please tell me Im wrong.
January 11, 2010 at 7:07 pm
Hi,
how long do you have to work on one Track or Score? I don´t know what is right.
Gives the text in the Tracks, or Scores sene?
Can you post any lyrics? Doesn´t matter what Score
Thank you
January 13, 2010 at 10:58 am
It usually takes about a day to finish the foundation for a piece of music. It then takes a day or two more to polish it, then it takes the transcriber about 2 days to transcribe the music. After that the music needs to be recorded with an orchestra. When the recording is done you have to mix it all together. This can take a day to a week, depending on the complexity of the arrangement. So from start to finish, one piece of music probably takes about a week.
January 22, 2010 at 12:31 am
I thought it would have been much longer to compose a track…
another proof of your genius to create so amazing tracks in 2 or 3 days!
February is not so far guys, only a few days, maybe a few weeks 🙂
January 11, 2010 at 7:08 pm
Oh i forgot,
Are you doing your tracks with samplinglibraries or with real choirs and Orchestras?
January 13, 2010 at 10:54 am
It’s a combination of the best from both worlds. We use a lot of live orchestras because no samples will ever be able to touch the musicianship and instrumental mastery of the top live players out there. At the same time we have to use a lot of synths to beef up the sound of the orchestra, as well as samples to do things that would otherwise physically harm our brass players 🙂
January 12, 2010 at 5:48 am
Has the number of tracks on Nemesis II ever been mentioned?
January 12, 2010 at 9:55 am
Im going to guess around 25 tracks
January 13, 2010 at 10:51 am
There will be no more than 15 tracks on Nemesis II. They are much longer than your typical trailer music track, and truth be told it’s gotten way beyond what trailer music ever was. The music on Nemesis II is based vaguely on that music style, but is meant to be listened to, not necessarily used in trailers. It’s a CD for your listening enjoyment.
January 12, 2010 at 3:48 pm
Hello Thomas and Nick!!. How r you?. Greetings from México.
I just want to say that I love your songs and Im waiting impatiently for the album, Nemesis II!.
All of your songs are very… CHIDO!! (our expression to say: great, awesome, brilliant).
Good luck!, and as we say here: ¡¡Hasta luego amigos!!.
January 13, 2010 at 10:59 am
Hello Chendo! Thank you for your support 🙂
January 14, 2010 at 2:00 am
Hey Thomas sorry for asking so many questions as I know you are busy bringing out some 3 of the best albums ever 🙂 But I was wondering do you listening to any other trailer music company’s music besides your own perhaps you listen to Immediate Music or city of the fallen or audio machine =)
January 13, 2010 at 1:41 pm
Wow thank you for the information. You were very assiduous ( I hope this mean, what i wanted to say ^^) today.
Are in the Trailerindustry many Satanists? I belive, i saw somewhere, you said you´re no one, but I think on Kilertracks and other strange names^^. This should not affot anybody, but I´m interessted in it.
Thank you
Peter
January 14, 2010 at 5:02 pm
WTF?? o.O? I seriously think man, you need help.
January 14, 2010 at 5:25 pm
Maybe. I just wanted t know, why there are so many dark names. You´re right, it was written very bad. I´m just a child and dont think very far.
Sorry
January 27, 2010 at 12:00 am
“Dark names” don’t necessarily mean involvement in satanism. ;]
January 13, 2010 at 10:25 pm
I finally heard keys-In your arms song amazing Merethe Soltvedt really is one of the best singers and vocalists she fits perfectly with two steps from hell
January 14, 2010 at 12:59 am
Glad to see you are alive and well. Looking forward to your first album. Great, great stuff…..
January 26, 2010 at 3:07 am
Hey Thomas!
Just wondering, are you gonna have Power of Darkness up on Extreme Music?
January 26, 2010 at 7:42 pm
Hey Thomas sweet cover art for PoD though I do agree with some people it could have a little more detail like legend but as long as the music is good thats what counts
January 26, 2010 at 8:20 pm
Have not seen the album art yet 😦 It blocks it on my school server! Gahhhh! and i have after school things!!! This is torture!!!
January 26, 2010 at 10:46 pm
Anyone got a link for the album art?
January 26, 2010 at 10:47 pm

January 26, 2010 at 10:48 pm

http://www.bored.com/makecountdowns/show.php?id=194802
January 27, 2010 at 7:09 pm
Does anyone know if that actually is the true release date of PoD?
January 27, 2010 at 7:44 pm
Of course not, it’s just a rumor, some peoples find that funny…
All we know for sure is that PoD will be out in february. So we have 28 possibility 😀
January 31, 2010 at 10:59 am
WOAH FREAK OUT!! POD releases February1st confirmed here http://www.facebook.com/twostepsfromhell#/discography/album.php?aid=279035528105
January 31, 2010 at 4:12 pm
omg!! is this official??
and if it is, how come it’s not on their official website? Just in the facebook group.. Man I sure hope this is valid information..
POD release?? Tomorrow??………… *dying out of breath* :p
January 31, 2010 at 8:11 pm
This is inaccurate information. Probably a blunder by the guy (Derek) who operates the Facebook page. POD will not be out until early March.
Best,
Thomas
January 31, 2010 at 8:18 pm
If its not out till march then why did you guys say February? Is this when the album will be finalized then released in march I guess
January 31, 2010 at 11:19 pm
😦
January 31, 2010 at 11:56 pm
lol wow that was a shocker! And yeah, I think they have always stressed that it won’t be out till late february or early march..Its only a month away. 🙂
February 1, 2010 at 3:03 pm
what about a demo? please? pretty please? :))
February 1, 2010 at 3:06 pm
Oh my god, people are very crazy and sell your music as MP3 rips on E-Bay. http://cgi.ebay.de/2-Steps-From-Hell-500-songs-Immediate-Music-Bonus_W0QQitemZ300392523487QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMusic_CDs?hash=item45f0ca26df
Don’t know why people do something like that.
February 1, 2010 at 6:20 pm
These people are shortsighted and selfish people!
February 1, 2010 at 10:07 pm
OMG he’s crazy…
This guy must not love trailer music to do that. He hasn’t understand at all…
February 2, 2010 at 11:13 am
sue him!!
February 2, 2010 at 10:01 pm
why the hell would you post that link here damn some people are stupid
February 2, 2010 at 10:10 pm
they should sue the ebay user. now.
February 1, 2010 at 4:03 pm
“in MP3 Format on 1 DVD, to use in video production”
Is he crazy or what ? That kind of **** is killing the compagnies!
February 2, 2010 at 9:02 am
this seems to me very illegal. I’m wondering, why someone does this “officially” without thinking, that he can easily be sued for such actions…
February 2, 2010 at 6:05 pm
@sebastian They dont think, and thats why they are idiots who just want to make a penny selling gold.
February 13, 2010 at 10:10 pm
Perhaps an update on Nemesis 2 Thomas would be nice
February 13, 2010 at 10:30 pm
Come on, let Thomas breathe!
He is busy, if he don’t post news, it means there is none.
It a big thing he created a blog especially about a public album (first time it happens)
So we have to be patient, constantly asking for news won’t make things go faster.
February 13, 2010 at 10:55 pm
I agree, can’t you wait until Power of Darkness is released?
He will probably give us an update then. I know it’s hard to wait, but Thomas and Nick are not machines and they need to take care of many things at the same time. Like Shuyan said, be patient, remember he does this for us fans.
February 14, 2010 at 10:00 am
OMG! Calm down please. We all know it would be nice, so? Do not bother Thomas. Thx.
February 13, 2010 at 11:06 pm
Jeez Shuyan dont throw a little boo-boo like a baby calm down I was just asking
February 13, 2010 at 11:31 pm
You are always asking, that’s the point…
February 14, 2010 at 1:40 am
Kevin, what is keeping you so adamant about the release? I mean, I myself am looking forward to it(as we all do) but I can live even if they delay it a bit because after all, its their prerogative whether to release it or not, and when to release it. I didn’t pay any amount in advance or something of that sort to keep demanding any update so as far as I’m concerned, I’m fine even if there’s been no update these days. What’s the rush anyway??? (Not picking a fight anyway, just trying to be rational and objective).
February 14, 2010 at 1:43 am
Im just excited for nemesis II and Just wanted know how its going jeez and you people throw a fit about it.
February 14, 2010 at 1:48 am
We all are! I think I know where the problem is, I think its in the way you post that it comes off as not mere curiosity or asking but already comes off as DEMANDING for updates..Or at least that’s how it comes off to me. But I know its not what you intend, it just appears to be that way. Peace out!
February 15, 2010 at 6:59 am
Hey lets all settle down. We are all a little different in how we say things 😉 makes us human
February 15, 2010 at 7:06 am
Im sorry If I seemed “arrogant” or “demanding” In My last Post. Sorry to Thomas and Nick and the rest of the fans I didnt mean any offence I know you are working really hard for us I guess I just dont think before typing and I guess it came out to appear like I was demaning for something Im sorry If it did.
February 16, 2010 at 4:02 pm
Good luck moving! A big fan of your work!!
February 27, 2010 at 1:35 am
Hi!
English is not my mother langage, so it is a bit hard to find the right words for what I want to say. However, let’s try…
I highly admire your work. Your music conveys emotions extraordinarily well, it is every time a burst of emotions when I listen to a cue. You are one of the rare composers who, in my opinion, manages to express feelings through music so well and make us feel them so deeply, and reach our sensibility so much. You actually play with our emotions and sensibility, in a subtle and delicate way, by playing with the notes and create such beautiful melodies. Melodies that I also find very powerful, simple but efficient: you come straight to the point. “Freedom Fighters”, for example, is one of the most powerful tracks I have ever heard :d. However, so far my favourite track is “Fountain of Life” ;), I find it so beautiful.
If the definition of art is to reach the human sense and sensibility, then you are a great artist!
I wanted to know if “Down with the Enterprise” is indeed a custom cue made for one of the Star Trek trailers, since the famous starship in the movie (and TV series) is called the Enterprise!
Also, how is it going on with the album “Two Steps From Heaven”? Are you currently working on it? Tina Guo made a quick reference to it a short time ago in a comment on Facebook, after the track “Promise” was posted (a very nice song by the way), so I was curious to know if this album you mentioned several months ago (on this blog I believe) is still relevant today 🙂
If it is, what kind of album will be? A bit like “Dreams and Imaginations” given the title of the album?
And finally, keep going composing such an extraordinary music :d
February 27, 2010 at 1:45 am
Promise will be on Nemesis 2.
For Two Steps From Heaven style, it will be tracks like Army of Justice and Protectors of the Earth for what I know, but maybe there were some changes so let’s wait Thomas to confirm it.
March 1, 2010 at 7:59 am
Hey Thomas wishing you all the best with the release of Power of Darkness this month hope all goes well.
March 2, 2010 at 7:01 pm
Hey Thomas,
I was curious If you had the finalized release date for Power of Darkness????? So I can make a countdown 😉 plzz respond!
Daniel
ps I absolutely love everything you do you are my role model!
March 9, 2010 at 11:59 am
Why so quiet in here? Is POD accurate release date has been mentioned yet?
March 9, 2010 at 2:55 pm
16th of March. Or at least mid March
March 9, 2010 at 3:37 pm
wow is this official? 16 of March?? it’s gettin close guys!! *cheer*
March 9, 2010 at 3:40 pm
nevermind I came across with the same info in trailermusicnews so yeah!! its good go go :D:D
March 9, 2010 at 4:03 pm
I had the information directly from Thomas, so it is official.
Thx to him 😀
March 9, 2010 at 4:31 pm
and I got it thanks to you 🙂
March 9, 2010 at 7:11 pm
Guys, although I appreciate the excitement surrounding Power of Darkness, I really don’t understand it 🙂 Keep in mind that this is still not a commercial album and will only be available to our clients. The actual shipping date is 16th of March but that doesn’t mean there will be demos on our site by then. It will not appear in the Extreme online catalogue either, so there’s really nothing to be excited about when it comes down to it 🙂
Best,
Thomas
March 9, 2010 at 7:22 pm
Finally, this message will make things clear I think.
Don’t forget you gave us He Who Brings the Night and announced us the album here eh ^^ ?
Plus, when PoD is out, you will get your hands free to work on Genesis.
March 9, 2010 at 7:30 pm
Thanks for this information Thomas.
Good luck with ‘Genesis’ and Nemesis 2!
March 9, 2010 at 7:31 pm
This is true Thomas, but a Power of Darkness release
means getting closer to Genesis for us (at least for me).
We won’t have to say “their albums are not for sale sorry”
to the new TSFH fans anymore 🙂
As for Nemesis II, take as much time as you need.
It can only make it better.
March 9, 2010 at 11:26 pm
Alrighty then, I’ll wait for the commercial releases! Bring it on! Although I would love demos, I think that would just be killing me knowing I can’t lay hands on it.lol.
March 10, 2010 at 9:22 am
Huh? No demo…??? Why? All of TSFH’s albums have demos…. Why PoD wont have? Please…
March 10, 2010 at 3:50 pm
He said the demo could not be on the side before the 16th, but it will come after.
March 11, 2010 at 11:16 am
lol
Fans have been underestimated for decades. We have done very well that way…
March 9, 2010 at 7:52 pm
Alright, well, what will appear on extrememusic then, nothing? Their news say that 35 tracks from PoD will be available for licensing there during this month.
March 9, 2010 at 8:42 pm
Thomas we are so freakin excited because we love your music.. I don’t think you can possibly imagine how much we do.. 😀
Every update and every release regardless of the non-commercial thing gives us great amounts of joy and expectation!
That’s just how we fans work 😛
And Genesis is going to follow so we’re going to have another thing to wait for 😀
March 10, 2010 at 2:26 am
Thomas you underestimate the power of the dark side if you get what I mean
March 10, 2010 at 5:35 pm
This blog started one year ago, and a few days, and still no Nemesis II 😛
But great news indeed. Like some said, now with the release of PoD, you’ll have time for Nemesis 2 and Genesis, and that’s most why we’re enthusiast.
Let’s hope it’ll just not take another year
March 10, 2010 at 5:53 pm
Whoops, my bad, I didn’t know PoD will not be availabe to buy. So we can at least hope to hear some of its tracks in some badass trailers. 🙂
March 13, 2010 at 5:07 am
If you need help moving still, I can help 😀 You can pay me in music.
March 13, 2010 at 6:32 pm
Haha I was excited for Power of Darkness becaue I mixed up the names. I thought that was going to be the one available to us, and Nemesis II was the one we couldn’t buy. But I’m all straightened out now, thanks. Also, I’m still excited about PoD, because it’s another accomplishment for you guys! Haha yay!
March 13, 2010 at 7:56 pm
You know, Thomas, it’s like the academy awards: Lots of people are excited about it, but just the stars can go to the show and get these small golden figures. 😉
Maybe we can’t listen to demos of POD for some time, but we are excited, that a new album of you guys is released. And maybe in a few weeks, there is a small demo on your homepage… who knows? 😉
Good luck with the new album. And send Hans some greetings from germany, since you are neighbours by now. ^^
March 15, 2010 at 4:57 am
Hey, here’s a dumb idea.
Wouldn’t another topic be nice 😉 maybe about PoD?
P.S. Been playing Final Fantasy XIII to your music for the past 4 days.
March 15, 2010 at 6:04 am
How come Power of Darkness is not going on extreme music? They said it will be on there this month.
March 15, 2010 at 6:34 pm
…the liars!!!!
March 15, 2010 at 7:34 pm
Oh come on guys, stop it with that down faces.
Extreme Music never stated that it will be on their website so they are not liars. If I’m correct, Extreme Music arranges the distribution internationally for Two Steps From Hell. We all know how special Two Steps From Hell is, so we could have expected this exclusive release (so not for us fans). Since Extreme Music helps with the distribution, they advertise for this release on their website.
March 15, 2010 at 7:54 pm
I wuz just kidding 😉
March 16, 2010 at 11:10 am
It will be on extrememusic.com, it’s stated as a NU release.
March 16, 2010 at 2:02 pm
As a New Upcoming release. ExtremeMusic does not release albums digital ONLY. They release as physical CDs too.
So forget PoD being on ExtremeMusic for now.
March 24, 2010 at 9:25 pm
Whooee Thomas – just finished listening to the sample music of Power of Darkness on you website. IT WAS AMAZING!!! Thank you so much for the very long samples that you had, I could have completed a “Rachel Ray 30 minute meal” by the time the demos were done. It always amazes me how someone can write and compose music like that. Keep up the EXCELLENT work and all the best!
March 25, 2010 at 5:45 pm
Thank you! It was hard to pick the right tracks for the demo because as composers we always have some pieces that we really like, but know that other people may not find equally interesting. For example, one of my favorite tracks on the album is the last one in the first demo (The track is actually called Power of Darkness) but it’s very dark and menacing and doesn’t feature choir, so some people may not like it.
March 25, 2010 at 5:48 pm
Well, it’s a perfectly named track, and a great theme for the album. Don’t worry, we trust you and Nick to make the good choices.
March 25, 2010 at 3:25 am
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! the PoD demos are amazing 😀 cant wait for genesis and nemesis II even more now I know they will be epic
March 25, 2010 at 1:24 pm
Just great music, dude! That’s the moment I was waiting for. 😉
March 25, 2010 at 5:28 pm
Yes, the demos are indeed amazing. Full epicness. I won’t say it enough, you’re the best. No more doubt.
So, now you’ve got more time…
Ok, you can take holidays… but not very long one!! We still want N2 and Genesis more and more 🙂
March 25, 2010 at 5:47 pm
Thanks so much Elendil. Next up is Genesis (which may get a different name by the time it’s ready for release), followed by Two Steps From Heaven.
March 25, 2010 at 7:11 pm
Thanks for the demos. Great stuff.
Just overlooked it yet but I thought I’ve heared the Hollywood Strings in demo 1 (from 13:56 to 14:53), is this true?
March 25, 2010 at 9:24 pm
Awesome new album TJB.
Congrats!
My favorite tracks are: Power of Darkness, Eternal Honor and What’s Happening To Me.
They rock! You’re the best!
March 25, 2010 at 9:57 pm
I assume you work in a company who is supposed to have the album.
If yes, that is nice of you to let everyone know the album is as good as expected.
If not, I think you really are retarded.
March 25, 2010 at 10:33 pm
I’m not retarted man. It’s out there on the world wide web
March 25, 2010 at 10:43 pm
It shouldn’t be on the web. A jerk posted it on a forum and now it’s spreading on the web. Some people don’t care about respecting TM companies and composers, even when the composers themselves get in touch on the forums and ask not to share their albums – these people just “want” new albums, all the time, no matter what the consequences might be.
Honestly, it looks like you are one of these people.
March 25, 2010 at 10:56 pm
Totally true. Unfortunatly, it’s too late and there is nothing we can do about it, apart spread the word about what Thomas said on ffshrine.
March 26, 2010 at 10:09 am
With all due respect:
6330 fans on facebook alone.
So taking into account that only a very small part of those thousands of people are angels it’s only normal that the more the music is wanted the sooner it leaks. And I bet 99.9% of the fans only listen to the music without using it illegally in own productions. So as long as I listen to those brilliant compositions I don’t see the need to feel guilty about it. In fact I feel blessed.
Besides next week everybody is already forgotten it leaked because they are on to the next album.
March 25, 2010 at 10:00 pm
Thank you so much for these demos..!! It must be one of the best albums of this genre ever! Too bad we won’t be able to enjoy it to its full glory.. Anyway I have to admit that I prefered the Black Blade version as heard in the Prince of Persia trailer.. 😛 Still all the songs we heard in the demos are incredible!! Can’t wait for Genesis 😀
March 25, 2010 at 10:05 pm
Guys we all know we get the albums eventually and it is illegal we know that. But we should respect what Thomas said back on FFSHRINE “It has been said again and again in this thread, but it cannot be stated too often: The trailer music companies can only make money for future productions as long as the music remains exclusive and rare. By posting our music everywhere for the public to download you are directly hurting our business. I think most of you understand this, and really just want to download our music to listen to it in private. That’s why I ask that you do not spread our music further if/when you acquire it, to prevent too much damage to our business. We are forced to take legal action against administrators and site owners who actively spread our music to the public, simply because there’s a direct correlation between income and public file sharing. We spend money watermarking our music to track the source from which distributions came, and we will actively pursue these offenders.
Please remember that we at Two Steps From Hell are very passionate about what we do and we would like to continue to write music that appeals to the public, but if the sharing continues it is going to be hard to surivive, and our fans will suffer”.
March 25, 2010 at 10:12 pm
The demos are amazing, Nick and you have done an incredible job. The choirs sound so beautiful and powerful! Congratulations on this new album! It is a shame indeed that we can’t listen to the full tracks 😦
I can’t wait to watch trailers featuring new tracks from this album 🙂
March 26, 2010 at 5:24 pm
Hello Thomas,
on the May 2, 2009 at 7:30 pm you post here this message:
Hey guys, there will be photos and video footage from our Power of Darkness CD sessions, scheduled to be released in a few months.
When we can expected this stuff?
THX
March 27, 2010 at 12:01 am
Dear Thomas,
Thank you so much for your beautiful compositions on your website. I wish I could hear more – but I understand your reasons. Thank you for the years of inspiration and more.
I am very looking forward to your next works, who will be in both physical and commercial formats.
Keep it up and celebrate your truly amazing work!
Greetings from the Netherlands.
-J
March 30, 2010 at 3:49 pm
What did you do to this awesome Master of Shadows track :(? It’s really bad, all epicness is gone. I heard only a little part of it in demo but I don’t think it’s the part of the original.
I hope you will include an original Master of Shadows in Nemesis II. It’s the best trailer music track ever made. So intense and moving. But why did you have to edit it? 😦
March 30, 2010 at 4:37 pm
Hi Thomas!
I just wanted to express what I think a lot of us do.
When you created this blog, it was to keep us up to date with the making of Nemesis II. Don’t get me wrong, that was a really great idea, but seeing as there has been no news for almost a year, I’m starting to wonder what happened to your enterprise. Also, the majority of your news are about TSFH/Power Of Darkness.
All the important matter we now know about Nemesis II (and Genesis too) has been known through the comments section (delay, number of tracks…).
So, how is it going now with the album?
I think you’d win a lot more time by making a news every now and then instead of having to answer the countless emails you must receive. Answers who only arrive to the people who asked you directly.
Those complaints also even more concern Genesis, which is now, as I heard, being actively worked on and shall release soon (thanks again!). We do not know a thing about the definitive title, the number of tracks, the cover maybe, or more importantly the distribution means.
You did so great by deciding to give us 2 public albums, but a great part of this decision involves high communication with said public. Or else it only leads to misunderstandings and lack of informations which is sadly happening now.
So, my real question is: why so shy on the news (facebook or blog)??
And thanks for taking the time to read this btw!
March 30, 2010 at 9:30 pm
Main reason: He’s an artist, not a PR manager, nor some marketing dude.
Sub reason: He’s busy (as a composer) working on our ‘precious’ (yea, i saw LOTR trilogy HD recently)
Dont get me wrong but the producing is starting right now after the release of the NON PUBLIC album Power of Darkness…so maybe he will give us more updates now since he’s currently working on the PUBLIC release(s).
April 1, 2010 at 11:25 pm
I’m listening to the demos non-stop because I can’t seem to digest them all and I never get tired.
Anyway, I don’t know what the titles are but the ones I really really love are the first ones for the first and second demo..Is there any way I might know their titles?lol. I also love the ones where there’s some “elven” humming in the background..like the one in Black Blade..(??Not sure if I got that right)
Congratulations guys! Well-done! I’m gonna familiarize your POD demos so I could identify TSFH’s work while watching trailers for some upcoming movies.
April 4, 2010 at 9:04 am
hi everyone,
just have to say i loved the demos, they are so amazing. i have been listening to them so much and when i’m not, like when i’m at school, they are still going through my head. pure brilliance, i’ve never heard music that has got to me like Two Steps From Hell.
Also, i was watching one of the Doctor Who trailers, (geek, i know) and correct me if i’m wrong but did i hear ‘Destiny of Mankind’ in the trailer?
Again, i love the music, keep up the good work. 🙂
April 6, 2010 at 1:28 pm
I also like Power of Darkness.
But I think some Tracks fit not to the title “Darkness”.
Bu i like the non-dark Tracks more
May 17, 2010 at 2:01 pm
Bought Invincible today.
Thanks a lot for your public release and the fan support, it’s a great album!
Keep on rockin’ and greetings from Austria,
Steve
June 13, 2010 at 2:38 pm
I first heard Moving Mountains in two separate video tributes to Roger Federer on U-tube.
The guy posting the clips probably didn’t get permission but in response to fans fascinated by the music, named the tracks.
I downloaded your album as a result and am looking forward to more great music. The arrangements are spectacular and befitting the great maestro’s shotmaking!
June 13, 2010 at 2:39 pm
Forgot to mention …. downloaded from iTunes
April 10, 2013 at 4:02 am
